GroĂźvenediger on July 4, 2025
It was that time again…the ancient majesty, Salzburg’s highest three-thousander, the GroĂźvenediger.
On the southern ascent from the Hinterbichl hiking parking lot via the JohannishĂĽtte and the Defreggerhaus, we followed the moraine ridge into the Mullwitzkees.
As a rope team, we marched over the striking glacier on snow and ice, past the Rainerhorn, the Hoher Aderl, and over the famous Venediger ridge to the summit.
At the end, we had covered around 2,300 meters of elevation gain, 29 km, a beautiful high-altitude tour, an impressive summit, and an absolutely amazing experience in our tour books.
Summit climb Hoher Dachstein
from June 12 to June 15, 2025
Amazing days on the Hallstatt Glacier and the Hoher Dachstein, and another summit entry in the logbook… Yes!
On the roof of beautiful Styria, we were able to take part in training in high-altitude touring, glacier climbing, rope techniques, and rescue methods. It was a wonderful and very educational experience led by Berni Eglauer and his Alpinschule Steiermark.
Rounded off by perfect food and accommodation at the beautiful Simony Hut, these unforgettable days came to an end.
Adventure Erzberg
on June 6, 2025
During our visit to the Erzberg exhibition mine, we gained an exciting insight into the fascinating world of underground mining. We rode deep into the interior of the mountain on the former crew train “Katl” and traversed the extensive underground labyrinth. We learned a lot of interesting facts about the hard working conditions of the miners—both in the past and in modern mining—as well as about the history of the Erzberg.
Afterwards, a real adventure awaited us: a ride on the impressive “Hauly,” a 1,217 hp heavy vehicle that took us across the imposing terraces of the Erzberg.
We ended the successful day in the cozy Wanderl inn in Sankt Lorenzen in the MĂĽrztal valley.

WE DID IT – SUMMIT
GROSSGLOCKNER ON 22.06.2023
Excited we started our tour in Kals am GroĂźglockner. In glorious weather, we set off for the StĂĽdl Hut at the foot of the GroĂźglockner. We followed the glacier to the via ferrata and further to the Erzherzog Johann HĂĽtte on the Adelsruhe.
At 3454 m, the highest refuge in Austria, we spent the night in a mattress camp.
From the hut we went very early the next day to the “Glocknerleitl”. From here we were already very close to the GroĂźglockner, it went in demanding climbing to the Glocknerscharte and over the beautiful summit ridge to the summit of the GroĂźglockner 3,798 m.
Impressed by the sensational summit panorama at the summit cross, we contested the descent via the ascent path and further down to the valley to the car. In a good mood we started the journey home.Â

In addition to forest education and tree science, we had the opportunity to get to know different tree species.
Within a very short time, we succeeded in planting 1000 young trees. As a confirmation of our work, we received a certificate showing how much CO2 the newly planted trees will save.
The successful day ended at the Buschenschank HUMER , where we enjoyed a hearty snack and a fantastic view over the Waldviertel.
